What PaidBrief Does
PaidBrief is a Google Ads intelligence tool that analyzes your advertising accounts and delivers a daily brief with dollar-quantified opportunities and ready-to-deploy fixes. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.
PaidBrief is operated by Jackson Dean. Throughout this policy, the terms we, us, and our refer to PaidBrief and its operator.
Data We Collect
Google Ads account data. When you connect your Google Ads account via OAuth, we access campaign performance metrics, keyword and search term reports, shopping product performance, change history, and Quality Score data through the Google Ads API. This data is used exclusively to generate your daily brief.
Account credentials. We store an encrypted OAuth refresh token to maintain access to your Google Ads account. We never see or store your Google password.
Email address. We collect your email address during onboarding for account identification and brief delivery.
Waitlist information. If you join our waitlist before onboarding, we collect only your email address.
How We Use Your Data
We use your Google Ads data to:
- Generate your daily performance brief with scored opportunities and recommended actions
- Store daily account snapshots so the brief can identify trends, track changes over time, and evaluate whether past optimizations worked
- Deliver your brief via Slack, email, or other channels you configure
We do not use your data for any other purpose. We do not use your Google Ads data to build advertising profiles, train machine learning models, or inform recommendations for other customers.
AI processing. To generate your brief, your account snapshot is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. Anthropic processes this data solely to produce your brief and does not use it to train models or for any other purpose per their data usage policies. No other third-party AI service receives your Google Ads data.
Consent. By connecting your Google Ads account through our OAuth flow, you provide consent for PaidBrief to access and process your account data as described in this policy.
Reporting timing. Briefs are generated once daily on a scheduled basis. Google Ads performance data in your brief reflects the most recent data available at the time of generation and is not real-time.
How We Store and Protect Your Data
Encryption. OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted at rest in our PostgreSQL database. They are never stored in files, environment variables, or application logs.
Access controls. Your Google Ads data is isolated to your workspace. No other customer can access your account data. Internal access is limited to system operations required to generate your brief.
Infrastructure. Our systems run on infrastructure with encrypted storage and encrypted connections. All API communication with Google uses TLS encryption in transit.
What We Share
We do not sell, rent, license, or trade your data to anyone. We do not share your Google Ads data with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use infrastructure and delivery services (such as email and messaging providers) to operate PaidBrief. We also use Anthropic's Claude API to analyze your account data and generate your brief. These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy and data usage obligations.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you and obtain consent before your Google Ads data is transferred to a new entity.
Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure
Google Limited Use Requirements
PaidBrief's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Read the policy at developers.google.com.
Specifically, PaidBrief:
- Only uses Google Ads API data to provide and improve the user-facing features of PaidBrief (generating your daily brief and tracking account performance)
- Does not transfer Google Ads data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, comply with law, or as part of a business transfer with your consent
- Does not use Google Ads data for serving advertisements, retargeting, or interest-based advertising
- Does not use Google Ads data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
- Does not allow humans to read your Google Ads data unless you provide affirmative consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law
Data Retention
We retain your daily account snapshots for as long as your account is active. Historical snapshots are what allow PaidBrief to track trends and evaluate past changes — they are a core part of the service.
If you disconnect your Google Ads account or close your PaidBrief account, we will delete your OAuth credentials immediately and your account snapshots within 30 days.
Your Rights
Disconnect at any time. You can disconnect your Google Ads account at any time through the PaidBrief interface or by revoking access in your Google Account permissions. Upon receiving your request, we will disassociate your Google Ads account from PaidBrief within three business days, and you will regain exclusive control of your account.
Data export. You may request a copy of your stored data, including account snapshots and journal entries, at any time by contacting us.
Data deletion. You may request deletion of your data or ask questions about our privacy practices by contacting us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we handle your Google Ads data, we will notify you via email or through the PaidBrief interface before the changes take effect.
